The Ghassoul is a clay soil forming part of the beauty and hygiene kit of the Maghreb women, as well as the glove of horsehair and black soap (beldi). Mixed with water, Ghassoul forms a creamy paste with absorbing, detergent and degreasing properties. These properties make it the ideal ally of care of all types of hair and skins. The word Ghassoul, Rassoul or Rhassoul comes from Arabic and means "to wash." It is therefore considered "soil to wash".
